Furnace Repair Danville, NH

When winter temperatures drop below freezing in Danville, NH, a properly functioning furnace becomes essential for maintaining comfort and safety in your home. At Paul the Plumber, we understand that furnace problems don’t wait for convenient times to occur, which is why our family-owned and operated business has spent 22 years perfecting our furnace repair services throughout the region. Our licensed and background-checked technicians bring extensive experience diagnosing and resolving heating issues, ensuring your home stays warm when you need it most.

Furnace breakdowns often happen during the coldest nights of the year when systems work hardest to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures. Our BBB accredited A+ rating reflects our commitment to providing reliable emergency repair services whenever heating problems arise. We treat customers like family, which means responding quickly to service calls and offering upfront pricing so you know exactly what repairs will cost before any work begins.

Common Furnace Problems We Repair

Understanding the typical issues that affect furnaces helps homeowners recognize when professional repair services are necessary. One frequent problem we encounter involves ignition system failures, where furnaces either won’t start or struggle to maintain consistent flame. Modern furnaces use either hot surface igniters or intermittent pilot systems, both requiring precise calibration and occasional replacement due to normal wear. Our technicians carry replacement igniters for most major furnace brands, allowing us to complete these repairs quickly during a single service visit.

Blower motor problems represent another significant category of furnace repairs we handle regularly. When blower motors begin failing, homeowners might notice unusual noises, reduced airflow through vents, or complete system shutdowns. These motors contain bearings that eventually wear out after years of continuous operation, particularly in older systems that have provided reliable service for decades. We diagnose blower motor issues using specialized testing equipment that measures electrical resistance and amperage draw, determining whether motors require lubrication, capacitor replacement, or complete motor assembly replacement.

Heat exchanger cracks pose serious safety concerns requiring immediate professional attention. Carbon monoxide can leak into living spaces through damaged heat exchangers, creating potentially dangerous conditions for occupants. Our technicians use advanced inspection cameras and testing procedures to identify heat exchanger problems, providing honest assessments about whether repair or replacement makes the most financial sense for each situation.

Our Comprehensive Repair Process

Every furnace repair begins with thorough diagnostic testing to identify all contributing factors to system malfunctions. We start by checking thermostat settings and electrical connections, ensuring proper voltage reaches all furnace components. Our technicians then inspect air filters, which when clogged can cause numerous operational problems including overheating, short cycling, and premature component failure. Simple filter replacements often restore proper operation, though we continue comprehensive inspections to identify any damage caused by restricted airflow.

Following initial assessments, we perform combustion analysis testing that measures carbon monoxide levels, flame sensor readings, and gas pressure specifications. These tests reveal whether burners operate efficiently and safely, identifying issues like dirty flame sensors, misaligned burners, or gas valve malfunctions. Our thousands of verified 5-star reviews across multiple platforms often mention our thoroughness in explaining these technical findings to homeowners, helping them understand exactly what repairs their systems require.

Preventive Maintenance Benefits

Regular furnace maintenance significantly reduces emergency repair frequency while extending equipment lifespan. Our club membership program provides enhanced coverage including a 3-year parts and labor warranty compared to our standard 2-year warranty, demonstrating our confidence in preventive maintenance effectiveness. During maintenance visits, we clean critical components like burner assemblies and flame sensors, check and adjust gas pressures, test safety controls, and lubricate moving parts according to manufacturer specifications.

Maintenance services also include comprehensive efficiency testing that identifies developing problems before they cause system failures. We measure temperature rise across heat exchangers, verify proper venting operations, and test all safety switches including limit switches and pressure switches. These proactive measures help homeowners avoid unexpected breakdowns during peak heating season when repair services experience highest demand and emergency service rates typically apply.

Signs Your Furnace Needs Professional Repair

Recognizing early warning signs helps prevent minor furnace problems from developing into major failures requiring expensive repairs.

  • Unusual noises: Scraping, banging, or squealing sounds often indicate mechanical problems requiring immediate attention
  • Frequent cycling: Furnaces turning on and off repeatedly suggest thermostat problems, clogged filters, or oversized equipment
  • Yellow pilot flames: Properly functioning gas furnaces produce blue flames, while yellow flames indicate incomplete combustion
  • Rising energy bills: Unexpected heating cost increases often result from declining furnace efficiency due to worn components
  • Uneven heating: Temperature variations between rooms might indicate ductwork problems or failing blower motors

Cold air blowing from vents when heat is requested typically indicates ignition system failures or heat exchanger problems requiring professional diagnosis. Similarly, persistent furnace odors, especially burning smells or gas odors, demand immediate professional inspection to ensure safe operation. We’re happy to help evaluate any concerns about unusual furnace behaviors, providing honest assessments about necessary repairs.

Energy Efficiency Considerations

Modern furnace technology offers substantially improved energy efficiency compared to systems installed twenty years ago. When repairing older furnaces, we evaluate whether continued repairs make economic sense compared to upgrading to high-efficiency models. Current ENERGY STAR certified furnaces achieve AFUE ratings exceeding 95 percent, meaning they convert 95 cents of every fuel dollar into usable heat. Older furnaces often operate at 65-70 percent efficiency, wasting significant energy through exhaust venting and incomplete combustion.

Repair versus replacement decisions depend on multiple factors including existing furnace age, repair costs, and potential energy savings. We provide detailed cost comparisons helping homeowners make informed decisions aligned with their budgets and long-term goals. Our upfront pricing policy ensures complete transparency throughout this evaluation process, eliminating surprise charges that complicate financial planning. With service provided with a smile, we guide customers through available options without high-pressure sales tactics, maintaining the integrity that has sustained our business for over two decades.

The heating requirements of Danville homes vary significantly based on factors like insulation quality, window efficiency, and architectural design. We consider these variables when recommending repair strategies or replacement options, ensuring solutions properly match each home’s specific heating demands. This customized approach, combined with our commitment to treating employees like family which translates into superior customer service, distinguishes Paul the Plumber from competitors who apply one-size-fits-all solutions regardless of individual circumstances.

First time customer, and am very pleased with the whole experience. The highlight was definitely with the technicians assigned to the job and their work – Tyree and Corey were clean, polite, well-informed, and very helpful with some of the questions I had along the way. Their work appears to be top-notch, and they made sure no mess was left behind. Will definitely be calling and requesting these two again on any future needs.

Overall a great experience and would definitely use them for future jobs.

What a fantastic business. Helped us work with our water district in resolving meter replacement issues. They also fixed a pipe leak that had developed over time. Caleb was wonderful and answered our questions as well as working with the water district engineer on the meter issues. So easy to work with.

D. Lefort

Arrived as scheduled to fix a leak from the shower valve. Tried to fix old 30 or 40 year old unit but had to replace with a new one. Quality work, parts and cleaned up when they were done. Would definitely use again.

I cannot say enough about this company!!! Their only concern is that you are up and running again with no worries. I’ve had Kyle the plumber, and Josh their electrician out here and both are polite, well trained and you can tell they truly care about getting you back in service. Great service, well trained caring staff! I will never go anywhere else!

We had an issue with our water…too hard, calcium deposits, and very little pressure in our master bathroom shower only. The techs (Mike E. & Tyler S.) arrived right on time. They were friendly and very personable. After installing our whole house filtration system and successfully finding the issue with our master bathroom, they left the work areas in pristine condition. They were meticulous in their work, and I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs!

These are the after photos of the Rinnai tankless water heater installation and vent to the outside. It was important to me that the crew was able to use the existing vent hole to the outside to run both the intake vent pipe and the outside vent pipe. It made the job very clean and did not change the appearance of the outside wall. A shout out to Mike E, Caleb, Josh & Corey

I made an appointment on line the morning of July 31 and two trucks showed up at 1:00 pm right on time that same afternoon. Both guys were friendly and very knowledgeable. They quickly found the source of the wet patch on my ceiling which wasn’t the plumbing but a problem with the shower curtain. This is the second time I have called Paul. Both times I got outstanding service and will always call on Paul the Plumber for any plumbing problems in the future. Very reasonable cost for the visit.

H. MacPherson

I would recommend Paul the Plumber 100%. They offered same/next day service. They were friendly, professional and quick – from the office staff to the technicians. Overall an amazing experience from start to finish.

DJ from PTP was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My shower was not draining and it became a bigger project than I thought it would and they came out quickly and were able to fix my problem. Then when my water heater had a slow leak they came back out quickly to attend to it and fix my problem. I really appreciate their hard work. Thank you so much!! Would definitely recommend them.
